Hour 1 - The QUIZ (ACLH): A potpourri of the hottest topics in legal malpractice and ethics, and what you need to know to protect yourself from novel malpractice risks and ethics complaints. This year’s QUIZ covers: Duties when a lawyer leaves a law firm; Problematic fee agreement language; Personal interest conflicts under Missouri RPC 4-1.7; Reporting duties under Missouri RPC 4-8.3; and, the ethics of withdrawing from a representation.
Hour 2 - Conducting Your Law Practice Management Review (ACPM1): Law firms constantly change and evolve. So too do the ethics and malpractice issues guiding lawyers’ conduct and representations. Only through regular review and updating of a firm’s processes and procedures to align with such changes can lawyers avoid unwanted surprises.
