Whittney Dunn, Risk Manager with The Bar Plan Foundation, was recently named to leadership positions within the American Bar Association (ABA), The Missouri Bar, as well as the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). These positions include:
- Chair of the ABA YLD (Young Lawyer Division) Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee
- ABA YLD Public Service Liaison to the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section
- The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section delegate to the ABA House of Delegates
- Member of the Millennial Panel at National Association of Mutual Insurance Company’s Annual Convention
As Chair of the ABA YLD Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee, Dunn is responsible for working with the related ABA entities and other YLD Liaisons to promote professionalism in the law and identify and make comments regarding potential changes to the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. She will also be responsible for producing (Continuing Legal Education) CLE programming and articles for the Committee Newsletters and other YLD publications. Both of the ABA positions are for the 2017 -2018 Bar Year.
Dunn joined The Bar Plan as Risk Manager, and regularly presents CLEs on ethics, professionalism, and malpractice avoidance; provides risk management consultation services to law firms; and audits insured law firm procedures to evaluate risk management controls. Dunn was previously employed at UniGroup, Inc. where her caseload included cargo claims, collections and consumer complaints. She has also worked for Legal Services of Southern Missouri.
