The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company provides professional
liability insurance to firms and sole practitioners in the
states of Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, and New Mexico. The
Bar Plan is proud to offer a full-time and part-time policy
to attorneys based on their insurance need. Our full-time
policy provides coverage for attorneys in private practice
while our part-time policy is available to attorneys who
have a full time position in a non-law related business.

The Bar Plan Policy offers the following features:
Defense for Intentional Acts
Provides a defense to both the innocent partners
and to the person accused of the wrongdoing if in
doing such acts or omissions the insured was acting
in a professional capacity providing legal services.
First-Dollar Defense (unless modified by endorsement)
Deductible applies only if there is an indemnity
payment.
Defense Outside the Limit (by Endorsement)
Additional defense limits available up to $1M
Prior Acts Coverage (subject to Underwriting
Guidelines)
Provides protection for legal services for past
acts.
Career Coverage (subject to Underwriting Guidelines)
Provides protection for legal services for your
entire past career as a practicing attorney.
Broad Definition of Insured
Each lawyer named in the declarations
Non-lawyer employees
Former partner, member, officer, director, stockholder,
associate or employee of the named insured but solely
for the acts or omissions while providing legal
services on behalf of the named insured.
60 day automatic coverage for newly associated
attorneys
Consent to Settle Clause
Voluntary Resolution Refund
This clause provides a 50% refund (not to exceed
$12,500) of the Deductible paid for a claim that
is voluntarily resolved within 12 months or a 25%
refund (not to exceed $6,250) of the Deductible
paid for a claim that is voluntarily resolved within
24 months.
Extended Reporting Coverage Available
Free Extended Reporting Coverage due to death
or disability to attorneys insured at least 3 continuous
years.
Free Extended Reporting Coverage due to cessation
of private practice to attorneys insured at least
3 continuous years and that have attained the age
of 55 years.
