THE BAR PLAN FOUNDATION
The Bar Plan Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established with the goal of promoting and improving ethics and professionalism in the practice of law, and to foster a positive relationship between the legal community and the public through education, scholarships and direct services.
The primary means of accomplishing the goals of promoting and improving ethics and professionalism in the practice of law is through the Foundation's Risk Management Seminar Series. Annually, the Series is presented at numerous locations throughout Missouri, Kansas and Indiana. The Foundation is a frequent participant in state and local bar association conferences. In keeping with the Foundation's mission, the programs emphasize risk management awareness and legal ethics and professionalism topics.
To further its mission through scholarship efforts, the Foundation Scholarships were established in 1998. These scholarships, in the amount of $2,500, are available to a third-year law student at each of Missouri's four law schools: the University of Missouri-Columbia; the University of Missouri-Kansas City; Washington University in St. Louis; and St. Louis University.

ALS Association’s C.A.R.E.S. program provides those with ALS:

Adaptation & Equipment Program offers the evaluation of equipment needs and home adaptations that can preserve energy and independence, identification of the best source for recommended devises and adaptations, and a loan pool of primarily used equipment that can be used if other sources are not available.
Resource & Referral lists of medical professionals, service providers and vendors that have experience with ALS are maintained by The Chapter.
Education through materials and programs for patients, care givers and families.
Support groups for ALS patients, families, caregivers, and survivors meet monthly throughout Kansas, Nebraska, and Western Missouri. These groups present the opportunity to learn from professionals in fields related to the management of ALS. As the needs change the latest information is made available. These meetings also provide support and fellowship with others who are experiencing ALS.
