The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to announce the addition of its newest Board Member, John R. Gunn. Gunn has been an insured of The Bar Plan since 2001, and his active involvement in various Bar Associations, which parallels The Bar Plan’s mission to support local attorneys, makes him an ideal member of the Board of Directors.
“We are excited to have John join our Board,” said Karen McCarthy, President & CEO of The Bar Plan. “As a practicing attorney and an insured of The Bar Plan for many years, his experiences will give us a fresh perspective on how to best meet the needs of our insureds.”
As a practicing attorney, Gunn represents individuals and businesses in matters ranging from complex business litigation to minor probate proceedings. Gunn earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2000 and his B.A. from Villanova University in 1997.
As a member of The Missouri Bar, Gunn serves on the Board of Governors and as an officer of the Young Lawyers Section Council. He is also a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ Board of Governors, and is an officer of The Lawyers Association of St. Louis. Gunn is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the St. Louis County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, where he has a seat in the House of Delegates.
“I am excited to join The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company’s Board in a capacity that will allow me to help protect attorneys’ practices long into the future,” said Gunn. “I’ve been affiliated with The Bar Plan for many years and am honored to now be a member of the Board.”
