Christina Lewis Abate, Risk Manager for The Bar Plan Foundation in St. Louis, Missouri, was recently appointed to serve as Chair of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Ethics and Professionalism Committee. Her year-long appointment begins on August 1, 2010. As a leader in the Young Lawyers Division, she is a key member of a dynamic group responsible for providing valuable benefits and services to more than 150,000 members and 300 affiliated groups. Christina regularly presents at legal seminars and conferences, provides guidance through the Foundation’s law firm audit program, and manages the Risk Management Hotline. She is a frequent author on Risk Management and legal ethics-related topics.
Christina received her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2004 and her B.A. from the University of New Mexico in 2000. Christina is a member of the Missouri Bar, the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Prior to joining The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company, Christina was employed as a trial attorney with the Missouri State Public Defender System.
