The Bar Plan's Risk Manager, Christina Lewis Abate, was recently named by the St. Louis Bar Foundation as one of the 2011 Spirit of Justice Award Recipients.
The awards are intended to "recognize lawyers and non-lawyers who have demonstrated accomplishments, leadership and integrity in fostering and maintaining the rule of law and in facilitating and promoting improvement of the administration of justice."
Ms. Abate is a presenter of The Bar Plan Foundation's annual Risk Management Seminar series, and manages the Risk Management hotline, where she gives attorneys advice as to how to avoid problems in their practice. She is a frequent author on Risk Management and other legal ethics-related topics.
Ms. Abate was recently named The Missouri Bar Young Lawyer Section Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. Her term begins at the close of the 2011 annual meeting in Toronto. Additionally, she was selected as co-Chair of the ABA YLD Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the 2011-2012 ABA year. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the ABA YLD Ethics and Professionalism Committee.
Abate will be honored at the 4th Annual Golden Gala on Friday, November 11 at the Starlight Room, Chase Park Plaza.
