The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company is currently searching for an experienced Vice President of Claims. The Vice President of Claims will report directly to the President and CEO of The Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Company. The Vice President of Claims is a significant and hands-on role designed for a multi-faceted claims leader and attorney offering superior management, team-building strength and a well-developed expertise in the professional liability insurance industry. We seek a high-energy and highly credible professional with a collaborative style that is high impact and results-driven. As a pivotal member of the senior management team, the Vice President of Claims will function as a resource and guide; a leader who can create and execute; and a spirited believer in profitable growth backed with quality service. The successful candidate will offer a strong executive presence augmented by broad and insightful business perspectives. Finally, the Vice President of Claims will be a strategic thought partner to the CEO, contribute to the development of key strategic issues and serve as an engaged, credible member of the senior management team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct the operations, management and budget of the Claims Department; review and analyze data to determine trends and maximize efficiency within the claim operation; and prepare and deliver oral and written claims reports and present to The Board of Directors.

Requirements: J.D.; Missouri Law License, ten years in-house professional liability claim management experience; Lawyers Professional Liability claim management experience strongly preferred; five years experience in a senior leadership position; exceptional communication skills; excellent computer skills; excellent presentation and writing skills; strong planning/problem solving and decision making skills.
